Belarca was founded by American composer William Susman and is the label for the visionary OCTET ensemble. Its mission is to record and widely disseminate contemporary music by living composers who push artistic boundaries. With a catalogue of both concert works and film scores, Belarca maintains an impeccable recording quality and the highest standards in sound. Each album features extraordinary performances by some of the world's finest soloists and ensembles.
Since it’s founding in 2012, Belarca Records has released three CDs: Fate of the Lhapa, Music for Moving Pictures and Oil On Ice. Featured are film scores to award-winning documentaries including Native New Yorker winner as best documentary short Tribeca Film Festival.
In the spring of 2014 Belarca will release OCTET's inaugural CD with more to come. In the works is an album with Japanese pianist Erika Tazawa performing the music of Dutch composers Douwe Eisenga and Jacob ter Veldhuis, Italians Francesco DiFiore and Matteo Sommacal, and Amercians Marc Mellits and William Susman.
